This weekend, the Nordic 4 talents return to the tarmac when the new season kicks off in the south of Denmark. And there will be a reunion with a number of familiar names, as well as room for new talent in the single-seater cars.
Silas Egedal made his debut mid-season last year and showed great pace from the start. This year, he will be racing for his own team, SE Racing, and there can be no doubt that the driver from North Zealand is aiming straight for the championship title. And he’s a strong contender, because with his speed and experience he’ll be hard to beat from the start.
At STEP Motorsport, who almost dominated the championship last year, the driver line-up this year consists of two debutants. Matteis Stigsen and Dutch Rosanne den Drijver, who both have plenty of karting experience under their belts, but will also have to find their feet in the car before they can make their mark at the front.
An ex-STEP Motorsport driver, Swedish Milla Sjöstrand, will be competing alongside Janine Wermuth at the RaceCraft Driver Academy.
The new Aquila Formula Nova is represented on the grid by Leonél Skaar and Richard Olson, who have both spent the last few months contributing to the development of the new formula car. Padborg Park will be the first opportunity to experience it in competition.
.
Among the more familiar names are Mads and Mille Hoe, who are ready for another lap in the Formula 5 cars. They will be joined by Niels Ejnar Rytter and Jørgen Leerskov, and there is also room for a debutant. Sigurd Stubberup Frederichsen has dominated the dirt tracks in the sport of crosskart in recent seasons, but this year he’s trying his hand at a more solid surface to broaden his horizons.
Another comeback driver is Michella Emilie Liv Rasmussen, who has spent a couple of seasons in other championships but is now back in single-seaters.
Once again this year, Nordic 4’s Danish races will be run as part of the Danish Supercar League, which means there’s plenty to look forward to both on and off the track. In addition, Sunday’s two races will be shown live on Youtube.
