Swedish motorsport talent Elias Adestam will return to formula racing in Nordic 4 with Aquila Formula Nova in 2026.
Adestam has sporadically competed in Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia in recent years, but will now return to his formula racing roots when he competes in the Danish Nordic 4 series next season:
“It feels great to be back in single-seater racing next year,” says Elias Adestam. “It has always been my main focus. The last time I drove a single-seater was at Silverstone in 2022 (in the British GB4 series) and I’m really looking forward to returning to what has always been my dream.”
The 19-year-old from the Stockholm suburb of Nacka has chosen to compete in Nordic 4 at a particularly exciting time for the championship. In 2026, the all-new Formula Nova car will be introduced, which is expected to pioneer the region with its low weight (380kg), paddle shifters, ground effect aerodynamics and low running costs.
“This will probably be the fastest car available at Formula 4 level today,” says Elias Adestam. “What decided it for me was the overall concept. It’s a light and agile car with a low centre of gravity, ground effect, halo – it’s a really good package. It’s also very cost-effective, which makes it possible to balance the books in difficult times. I think it’s the right way to go and I’m keen to be involved from the start.”

The ambitions are not to be mistaken either:
“I always race to win, and next year is no exception,” says Elias Adestam. “At the same time, I already know that the competition will be tough. Several fast drivers are already confirmed and a few more will be added before the premiere.”
“In addition, we are working on expanding the initiative for next year. We see the interest in the class and the car. It’s very interesting from a team perspective. I’m convinced that we will have very good conditions in that area as well.”
Elias Adestam won the Swedish Junior Racing Championship in the electric NXT Gen Cup in the 2023 season. Alongside his motorsport career, he also runs the Raising Against Cancer charity project, which will continue to be a central part of his sporting activities in 2026.
