Affordable Entry level formula racing

With the introduction of the new Aquila Formula Nova, participation in Nordic 4 is more affordable than ever before.

The car is designed with a focus on durability and learning for young racing drivers, and with the idea that the car should be able to be driven by family teams on an equal footing with professional arrive & drive teams.

Nordic 4 is run over six races spread across Danish and Swedish race tracks.

Race Format

Nordic 4 is held over six race weekends, with up to three heats each time.

Points for Nordic 4 are awarded after each heat, with points given to the top 10 according to the points scale 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1, and all divisions count towards the overall championship.

Race Weekends

On Saturday, there will be a free practice session and a time trial, where a driver’s best time determines the starting grid for the first heat. The starting grid for the second heat is determined by the results of the first heat, where the top 8 are reversed. The starting grid for the final is determined by the combined results of the first two heats.

The first heat will be held either on Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning, while the second heat and the final will normally be held on Sunday.

Prize pool

Over the years, sponsors and the Danish Automobile Sports Union have offered various prize pools in the class. This varies from season to season.

The drivers

The participants in Nordic 4 comprise a broad spectrum of drivers. There are those who have participated in the class for many years, or who have experience from a wide range of classes in Danish motor racing.

But there are also many who, after a successful career in karting, use Nordic 4 as the next step on the ladder towards a professional career in Danish and international motor racing.

The car

Nordic 4 uses only racing cars that are specially manufactured for competitive racing. In 2026, Aquila Formula Nova will be introduced as the official Nordic 4 racing car, and with a strong focus on affordability and a sustainable learning platform for young racing drivers, it will change formula racing.
